（新加坡18日訊）新柔捷運系統的建造工程正如火如荼展開，預計可如期在2024年竣工。
《聯合晚報》報導，新加坡基礎建設統籌部長兼交通部長許文遠昨午前往兀蘭北，以及柔佛新山的武吉查卡（Bukit Chagar），瞭解新柔捷運系統（RTS）建築工程的進展。
他昨天傍晚在面子書發表貼文指出，新柔捷運完工並投入服務後，相信將成為往返新馬兩地民眾，跨越柔佛海峽時優先選擇的交通工具，新捷運線也可大大地減緩柔佛長堤的交通擁堵狀況。
新柔捷運未來啟用後，新加坡兀蘭北站和新山武吉查卡站之間，只需要5分鐘車程。
許文遠說，使用新柔捷運的乘客進入新加坡後，將通過新加坡湯申—東海岸地鐵線的兀蘭北站，銜接新加坡的地鐵線網絡，直達南部的中央商業區、西部的裕廊湖區、北部的榜鵝數碼區，以及東部的樟宜機場。
在新山方面，武吉查卡站也將提供足夠的泊車位供乘客停放車輛。此外，武吉查卡站也將與快捷巴士系統（BRT）和當地巴士網絡連接。
許文遠也說，他日前使用馬來亞鐵道公司短程火車服務走訪新山，碰到不少新加坡人，他們對新柔捷運將要落成感到興奮。“我們的任務是如期完成這項工程，同時確保費用不超過預算。”
CHECKING OUT BUKIT CHAGAR STATION==========We are bullish about the upcoming #RTSLink, linking Woodlands North Station to Bukit Chagar Station in JB. When completed in 2024, it should be the preferred mode of transport for commuters crossing the Johor Strait. The RTS Link is fast taking shape. I spent an exciting afternoon with our Malaysian counterparts at Woodlands as well as at Bukit Chagar to check out the progress.At Singapore, the Thomson-East Coast Line will connect commuters from Woodlands North to the local MRT network, taking them to the Central Business District in the south, Jurong Lake District in the west, Punggol Innovation District in the north, and Changi Airport in the east. The trip between Woodlands North and Bukit Chagar on the RTS Link is a mere 5 minutes. Over at Bukit Chagar, ample provisions will be made for Malaysian commuters to park their vehicles. Last mile connection to the station via local buses and BRT will ensure a seamless connection. This development should shift commuters currently using the Causeway. We expect the RTS Link to significantly cut down the Causeway jams. We used the KTM shuttle for a recent day trip. We met many Singaporeans, many from my constituency, residents from #Woodlands and #Sembawang. They are all excited about the new RTS Link. Our job is to deliver it on time, and within budget.
